How to Set Up Your Fleet Card as an Express Transit Card

Express Transit is a convenient feature that lets you pay for transit without having to unlock your phone or use Face/Touch ID. Setting up your Fleet card as an Express Transit card takes just a few minutes and can save you time during your daily commute.

For iPhone Users

Step 1: Add Your Fleet Card to Apple Wallet

  1. Open the Fleet app on your iPhone

  2. Navigate to “My Card” section

  3. Tap “Add to Apple Wallet”

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the addition

Step 2: Set as Express Transit Card

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

  2. Tap “Wallet & Apple Pay”

  3. Select “Express Transit Card”

  4. Choose your Fleet card from the list

  5. Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode

  6. You’ll see a confirmation that your Fleet card is now set as your Express Transit card

For Android Users

Step 1: Add Your Fleet Card to Google Wallet

  1. Open the Fleet app on your Android phone

  2. Go to the “Card” tab

  3. Tap “Add to Google Wallet”

  4. Follow the prompts to add your card

Step 2: Set as Transit Payment Method

  1. Open Google Wallet app

  2. Tap on your Fleet card

  3. Select “Set as transit payment method” or “Set as default for transit”

  4. Confirm your selection

Using Your Express Transit Card

  1. Simply hold your phone near the transit reader

  2. No need to wake your phone or open any apps

  3. Look for confirmation on the reader (light, sound, or screen notification)

  4. Continue through the gate or onto your transit method

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Card Not Reading: Ensure NFC is enabled on your device

  • Transaction Not Processing: Check your card balance in the Fleet app

  • Error Messages: Contact Fleet support with the specific error code

  • Phone Battery Concerns: Most devices support Express Transit even when in power reserve mode (iPhone) or low battery mode (Android)
